Wild Card Albums

Run the Jewels 3 — Run The Jewels

This record could have been one of my favorites of the year, but it was released on December 25th, and I haven’t had enough time to sit with it compared to records mentioned above. That being said, it is still a fantastic record that merits just as much attention as anything else on this list, if not more.

untitled unmastered. Kendrick Lamar

This record could have been one of my favorites of the year, but comparing to the other records mentioned above seems unfair. It’s really just a collection of demos and unfinished (but still brilliant) songs. It blows my mind that Kendrick Lamar’s b-sides are still better than pretty much any other rapper in hip-hop right now. I hope we get a new Kendrick album in 2017 (but somehow I’m guessing we’ll have to wait until 2018)
